About the Author                                  

Born in London in 1947 and educated at the University of Kent and the Inns of Court School of Law.   John was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in July 1979 and appeared in over one thousand court cases in England and New Zealand.

This former well known and controversial Barrister and his nephew were arrested in the Botanical Gardens in Wellington New Zealand in blaze of media frenzy in July 2002 and falsely charged with attempting to Kidnap one of Wellington’s leading businessmen.

According to the New Zealand police John was about to demand millions of dollars for the release of  Mr X. but that was simply not true and in the end the jury did not believe that part of the story.   Their trial in the High Court at Wellington which lasted for seven weeks was by international standards a travesty of justice.

As a result John spent nearly 5 years in Rimutaka prison for a crime he did not commit.
